Eden Watermill is home to Elaine Bunce and Needlenose Arts.
I am based in Eden Watermill where I design and create Harris Tweed and Tartan handbags, textile art and accessories.
Having trained as a Stage Manager in London, I worked on several large theatre productions in the West End. Whilst there I developed a particular interest in costume and theatre design, especially the for more ‘unusual’ .. this inspired me to develop my own unique, quirky style.
My love of tweed began when I lived on the Isle of Skye, when I was commissioned to make a number of ladies waistcoats for a reputable outlet.
From that I began to design and make Harris Tweed and Denim handbags (using upcycled jeans) as gifts for friends and family. The popular ‘Wee Kilty’, in both tweed and tartan was inspired from my time as a trainee kilt maker at the Keith Kilt & Textile Centre.
Needlenose Arts began in late 2013 and it has steadily gone from strength to strength. I am now shipping handcrafted products all over the world, and always feel very grateful for the fantastic feedback that I receive.
Please get in touch if you have any questions about my Harris Tweed and tartan creations or would like to commission an item.
